Luciana Alvarez Client Service Assistant
Luciana's unique ability is imagining a brighter future, engaging people with fun and humour, and inspiring people to reach their goals.
Luciana Alvarez is our client service specialist. She believes very strongly that the customer comes first and if you have spoken to her you will have realized that she follows her belief. She developed this commitment to service through her own experience as a self employed artist and businessperson.
Throughout her extensive career as a professional painter, Luciana has shown her works in galleries, magazines, restaurants, festivals, boutiques, promotions, and charity benefits. She is a graduate with a BFA from the Emily Carr Institute of Art Design and Media in Vancouver.
Her work is on display in our office and we are proud to have Luciana as part of our team. You might wonder why such a successful artist is working in a financial planning office. The art world is an unpredictable business and Cove financial offers her some certainty in her business world. Luciana is organizing her time to create balance in her life and continues to paint commissioned works that end up in the home of some lucky person either locally or abroad. Christie Geiss Marketing Assistant
Christie's unique ability is solving problems energetically, seeing both sides of the vision, and bridging gaps between view points to bring about a positive outlook.
Christie is our office manager and new business-underwriting specialist. She brings many years of insurance experience to Cove Financial and applies that experience during the underwriting process as well as managing day-to-day office operations. Her well-established relationships with individuals at the insurance companies are founded on trust and a joint commitment to get the best results possible from our insurers for our clients.
Christie brings an additional level of commitment to her work due to the fact that Cove Financial is her business too. Christie and Bernie enjoy working together as a husband and wife owner/management team wanting to make Cove clients' experiences second to none. She has returned to the office virtually full time as her responsibilities to their children subside.
Christie is still very active in the kid's sports focusing her energies at this time on their daughter's, Nikki, high school sports team. Christie co-coached Seycove Secondary's juvenile girls basketball team to the school's first ever provincial championship in 2009. Prior to her coaching responsibilities at Seycove Christie coached our daughter's Select Gold soccer team. With their oldest son nearing graduation and the other two coming up behind him Christie decided it was time to get back involved with Cove Financial.
If you have any questions regarding the underwriting of your new insurance, Christie will have answers and will be able to find out about anything that she does not know. It is also possible that you might get a call from Christie if she is looking for missing information or needs to provide clarification of facts to the insurance carries. She reviews and prepares all policies for delivery and follows up to make sure everything gets done in a timely manner.
In her role as the office manager Christie supervises our office team and operations. If you have any concerns or comments about the service that you receive from any member of our Cove team please let Christie know so that we can make necessary adjustments going forward.
Karen Smith Administrative Assistant
Karen's unique ability is to provide consistent information that empowers her customers to feel confident as they work with the rest of the Team at Cove Financial in achieving their balance in life.
Karen brings her 20 years of experience in the disability insurance industry and the first-hand knowledge for the need of balance in life to Cove Financial. In her career, Karen has been acknowledged for her organizational skills, loyalty and dedication. At an early age Karen was encouraged by her family to realize the importance of supporting and giving back to her community and has volunteered thousands of hours in organizing and coaching youth sports and volunteering at major sporting events hosted in the Province of British Columbia to ensure that our Province was well represented. She enjoys recycling and creating something new from something old.
Karen was born and raised and resides in North Vancouver and has no plans of ever leaving this great nest in the world. She is the oldest of three children and enjoys sharing her brother's children and the companionship of her two snoodles (dogs) Hoc and Key.
